The information below is about our onsite classes offered before.

We expect major changes this fall due to the Covid-19,

and updated schedules and registrations will be available in mid-July.

 Chicago Korean Education Center offers Korean Language & Culture Classes for adults (+16yrs) at 4 locations in Chicagoland during Spring (late Feb ~ late May) and Fall (late Aug ~ mid-Nov). 

Please be advised that classes can be canceled due to low enrollment or availability of instructors.

 1. Wheeling Location

  • Address: Chicago Korean Education Center (9935 Capitol Dr., Wheeling, IL 60090)

  • Day & Time : Monday (Level 1) / Tuesday (Level 2) /Wednesday (Level 3&4), 6:30~8:00 pm

  • 4 Levels offered (Level 1~4)


 2. Chicago Location

  • Address: Hana Center (4300 N. California Ave., Chicago, IL 60618)

  • Day & Time: Wednesday, 6:30~8:00 pm

  • 4 Levels offered (Level 1~4)


 3. UIC Location

  • Address: University of Illinois at Chicago 

  • Day & Time : Tue & Thur, 5:30~6:30pm for Level 1 & 2, 6:45~7:45 pm for Level 3, Conversation

  • 4 Levels offered (Level 1~3 and Conversation)

 4. Terre Haute, IN Location

  • Curriculum

         - Level 1: Korean Alphabets, Active Korean 1 (Unit 1~4)

         - Level 2: Active Korean 1 (Unit 5~9)

         - Level 3-1 (offered in Fall): Active Korean 2 (Unit 1~5)

         - Level 3-2 (offered in Spring): Active Korean 2 (Unit 6~9)

         - Level 4-1 (offered in Fall): Active Korean 3 (Unit 1~5)

         - Level 4-2 (offered in Spring): Active Korean 3 (Unit 6~9)

  • There is no tuition, but students have to pay a registration fee ($40, Non-refundable) for the semester.

  • You might be asked to switch levels by your instructor before or on the first day of the class. The registration fee will be refunded in case you cannot change the level because the other class is full or because the schedule is different.

  • Self-Placement Test is strongly recommended before you choose your level.

  • Student needs to bring his/her own textbook on the first day: ACTIVE KOREAN  (Author: Seoul National University Language Institute, Publisher: Munjin Media, Online order available from www.hanbooks.com or www.amazon.com) *NOTE: Shipping takes 1-2 weeks if you order from www.hanbooks.com, so please place the order by early August. Purchasing a textbook is required. (Workbook is optional, but highly recommended.)
