The Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) is pleased to announce "The 34th & 35th AKS Summer Program for International Students".
As an important part of our mission is to cultivate young leaders, who can contribute to the development of Korean studies, the academy has organized an intensive summer program for international undergraduate students in Korean studies.
This program is composed of various components, such as special lectures on Korea, intensive Korean language course, field trips, excursions, and traditional cultural activities. Since its starting in 1993, we held the program for 33 times and 940 students from over 70 countries attended the program.
In 2021 and 2022, in light of the COVID-19 situation, AKS Summer Program was conducted online. In 2023, since the pandemic situation improves, the program will be conducted in person.

¶ Program Period
◦ The 34th: July 3 (Mon) ∼ July 21 (Fri), 2023 (3 weeks)
◦ The 35th: August 7 (Mon) ∼ August 25 (Fri), 2023 (3 weeks)
※ Please choose one that is more convenient for you. You CANNOT select both.
¶ Language of the Program: Korean
※ The participants are recommended to possess basic Korean language skills.
¶ Eligibility and Required Documents
◦ Eligibility
Undergraduate students of second year or above from universities abroad who are majoring or minoring in Korean Studies and/or those who took Korea-related courses from their universities.
※ Those who are in graduate school or hold Korean nationality are not eligible for this program.
※ For those who took Korea related courses, the course names should be specified in the transcript.
※ If applicant’s university does not offer Korean Studies major or Korea-related courses, Korean language institute certificate can be substituted for university transcript.

¶ Financial Support
◦ The Academy of Korean Studies will cover the cost of registration, lectures, accommodations, and meals during the program as well as expenses incurred during field trips and excursions.
※ All participants are responsible for their own travel expenses including the round-trip airfare, transportation fee between airport and AKS and medical insurance.

한국학중앙연구원에서는 한국학에 관심을 갖고 있는 외국인 대학생(학부생)들을 대상으로 한국문화강좌를 운영하고 있습니다. 본 강좌는 외국인 대학생들에게 한국의 언어와 문화를 직접 배우고 체험할 수 있는 기회를 제공함으로써 한국에 대한 전반적인 이해도를 증진시키고, 이를 통해 미래의 한국학 연구자를 육성하는 것을 목표로 하고 있습니다. 한국문화와 관련된 주제별 특강, 한국어 강좌, 전통문화체험 그리고 문화유적답사 등으로 구성되는 본 강좌는 1993년 이래 총 33회에 걸쳐 70여 개국 950명의 학생들이 참가한 바 있습니다. 2021년과 2022년에는 코로나19 팬데믹으로 한국문화강좌를 비대면으로 진행하였으나, 2023년에는 상황이 개선됨에 따라 대면으로 진행할 예정입니다. 여름방학을 이용하여 한국에서 한국문화강좌에 참가를 희망하시는 분은 아래 사항을 참조하여 지원해 주시기 바랍니다.

◦ 제34회 한국문화강좌 : 2023년 7월 3일(월) ∼ 7월 21일(금), 3주간
◦ 제35회 한국문화강좌 : 2023년 8월 7일(월) ∼ 8월 25일(금), 3주간
※ 중복 신청 불가
▮ 진행언어: 한국어
※ 참가자는 한국어를 듣고 말할 수 있는 기본적인 능력이 있어야 합니다.
▮ 지원자격 및 제출서류
◦지원자격: 해외 대학의 2학년 이상 학부생 중 한국학 전공자(부전공자) 또는 한국 관련 과목 이수자
※ 한국 국적자 및 대학원생 제외
※ 한국 관련 과목 이수자의 경우, 성적표에 해당 과목명이 명시되어야 합니다.
※ 대학 내 한국학 전공이나 한국 관련 수업이 개설되지 않은 경우 한국어 프로그램 수료증으로 대체 가능합니다.

4) 한국어 능력 평가표(한국어 또는 한국 관련 전공자 담당 교수(강사)가 작성한 파일)

※ 모든 제출서류는 한국어 또는 영어로 작성하여야 하며, 그렇지 않을 경우 한국어 또는 영어 번역본을 함께 제출하여야 합니다.
