Greetings,
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all visitors to the website of the Korean Education Center in Chicago.
The Republic of Korea is committed to helping overseas Koreans grow into global citizens with a strong sense of Korean identity and pride through education in the Korean language, history, and culture. At the same time, we are making diverse efforts to promote the Korean language and culture to non-Koreans around the world.
The Korean Education Center in Chicago was established under the "Act on the Educational Support for Overseas Korean Nationals" and has been serving the Midwest region of the United States—13 states under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chicago—since its founding in 1981. Our center engages in various initiatives, including the promotion of Korean language education, support for the education of overseas Koreans, recruitment of international students, and international education cooperation.
With Korea’s growing global presence and the continued spread of the Korean Wave (Hallyu), interest in the Korean language and culture is steadily increasing throughout the Midwest. The Korean Education Center in Chicago will continue to do its utmost to enhance awareness of Korea and the Korean language in the region and to strengthen international educational cooperation between Korea and the United States.
We sincerely appreciate your continued interest and support for the Korean Education Center in Chicago.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Seonjin Song
Director, Korean Education Center in Chicago
