(Test of Proficiency in Korean)

TOPIK aims to set a Korean Language learning path for those who do not speak Korean as their native tongue, and to promote the  Korean language by officially evaluating their Korean Language proficiency.

TOPIK Outline

Purpose of Test
  • To guide those learning Korean as a second language and promote more widespread use of the Korean language

  • To assess individual proficiency in the Korean language and allow test-takers to use their test results in filing college applications, job applications, etc.

Test Levels and Sublevels

  • Levels: TOPIK I, TOPIK II

  • Sublevels: 6 sublevels (1 to 6)

  • The level and sublevel is determined based on the total score obtained as follows
