Quiz on Korea Chicago 2026 (Regional Preliminary)

The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chicago is pleased to announce the 2026 Quiz on Korea Chicago. This is the second time the regional preliminary has been held in the Midwest, and we warmly invite Americans with a strong interest in Korean and Korean culture to participate.

1. Event Details

- Event Name: Quiz on Korea Chicago 2026

- Date & Time: Saturday, April 4, 2026, 3:00 PM–4:00 PM

- Venue: Bisco Hall, Korean Cultural Center of Chicago, 9600 Capital Dr, Wheeling, IL 60090

2. Application Information

- Application Period: March 16–April 1, 2026 (by 8:00 PM)

- Application Method: Must submit this Google application

- Notification: Selected participants will be notified individually via email on April 3, 2026

3. Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

- Must be 18 years or older (as of April 1, 2026)

- Open to individuals with an interest in the Korean language and culture

* Finalists must have sufficient Korean proficiency to participate in the final round in Korea, which will be conducted in Korean.

- Must not hold or have previously held Korean nationality, including immediate family members

- Must not have previously competed in the final round in Korea

- Must be available to travel to Korea for the final round (late August–early September 2026)

- Must be qualified to represent the United States in the final round

4. Competition Format

- The quiz will be conducted as a competition

- Questions will cover Korean history, culture, and language

- Question types include multiple-choice, OX quizzes, and consonant-based word puzzles

5. Awards & Benefits

- 1st Place: Smart Watch + airfare and accommodation for the final round in Korea

- 2nd Place: Bluetooth speaker

- 3rd-5th Place: Bluetooth earbuds
